In early February 2009, TylerD Studios got its start as a partnership between artist Betty Tyler and local business owners, Doug and Brenda Dodd. After years of servicing telecommunications devices, the Dodds decided to morph their warehouse into an artists' hub, complete with studio workspace, gallery space and a classroom for all kinds of art classes. Classes for children and adults are well underway in areas of painting, drawing, fiber arts, pottery, basket weaving, cooking and more.

Since then the space has developed to feature the work and work space of excellent local artists including Kathy Alderman,  Kelly Alderman, India Cain, Doug Dodd, Jacqueline Dunklebarger, Nancy Garrett, Terri Kirchen, Judy Madren,  Peggy McCormick, Betty Tyler, and Pamela Watts.

Rotating exhibitions and special events grace the walls of this new cultural space thanks to the vision of Betty Tyler, Douglas Dodd, Brenda Dodd and a handful of dedicated and talented Burlington artists.

The facility is a 14,000 square feet Artist collective with Warehouse Gallery; 4,000 square feet individual artist studio space; 1,500 square feet of art teaching space; and 8,500 square feet of warehouse gallery.

TylerD Studios is open daily, depending on the availability of the artists. Please call (336) 227-7072 to arrange a personal or group tour of the new facilities.
